There's a quick and easy way to check for a slow leak. Add food coloring to your tank, wait 30 minutes to an hour, and if you see color in the toilet bowl, you have a leak. Usually leaks in the toilet are caused by a defective flush valve.

So you want to compost, but you live in an apartment. Don't fret, there are things you can still do.
